The Strategic Research Support Unit supports the University’s Researchers and strengthens the research network and collaborations. The unit also assists with identifying national and international funding opportunities to increase the University’s external research income.

The incumbent will be responsible for leading the CSIR's Advanced Casting Technologies Research Group which aims to drive technology development that support improved competitiveness of existing aluminium industry and implementation of national foundry technology network.

Reporting to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Research and Innovation, the Executive Director is a member of the University's Executive Leadership Group and has strategic, operational, and administrative oversight of the Research Development and Support Division.
